Swanson Speech Therapy provides pediatric speech and language services for children with a variety of needs, including articulation and phonological therapy, early language development support, therapy for late talkers, parent coaching, childhood apraxia of speech therapy, stuttering therapy, autism spectrum communication therapy, and receptive and expressive language therapy.

We provide a variety of different treatment settings including our clinic space, virtual, your home, and or community settings such as your child’s school or daycare (in limited neighborhoods in Seattle).

A speech therapy evaluation may be helpful if your child is difficult to understand, uses fewer words than expected, struggles to combine words, stutters, has trouble following directions, becomes frustrated when communicating, or has communication differences related to autism, apraxia, language development, or speech sound production.

Parents don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong before reaching out. An evaluation helps clarify your child’s strengths, needs, and whether speech therapy is recommended.

A speech therapy evaluation typically includes a parent interview, review of your child’s communication history, observation, and formal or informal assessment depending on your child’s age and needs. The therapist may look at speech sounds, language understanding, expressive language, fluency, play skills, social communication, or other areas of concern.

After the evaluation, we’ll explain what we found in clear language and discuss recommended next steps, including whether therapy is appropriate and what goals may be helpful.

The frequency of sessions is dependent on your child’s needs and is determined case by case. However, we typically provide sessions 1-3 times per week for each child we treat.

Swanson Speech Therapy provides pediatric speech therapy services in Seattle, including support for articulation, phonological disorders, late talking, early language development, childhood apraxia of speech, stuttering, receptive and expressive language, autism-related communication needs, AAC, and parent coaching.

Yes. Teletherapy may be available for families in Washington depending on your child’s needs, age, goals, and attention. Virtual speech therapy can be a good fit for parent coaching, language support, articulation practice, fluency support, and some school-age therapy goals.

We accept Premera insurance and are considered an in-network provider for Premera. For all other insurance companies, we are considered an out-of-network provider and families pay directly after each session. Many families that we work with are able to bill insurance themselves with the invoice we provide.

Swanson Speech Therapy offers a free 15-minute phone consultation. Evaluations are $339 for a 60- to 90-minute assessment. Therapy sessions are $163 per 40-minute session. A travel fee of $26.50 per visit may apply for off-site appointments.

We ask that you play an active role in your child’s speech and language therapy, although that may look different for different clients. Ways that parents have engaged in their child’s therapy in the past include: getting on the floor and playing with the SLP and their child, actively observing and trying strategies used in the session at home, helping their child to play speech “games” at home that have been discussed and played during therapy. If it works out best for your family to have therapy provided at a school or daycare setting, we will put a plan in place to have open communication about strategies used during each session.

We currently have immediate availability, however, if you need a specific time for an evaluation or ongoing therapy, we are happy to add you to our waitlist for the specific day/time that works best for you.

To inquire about our current openings and schedule an appointment, please reach out to us at Contact@SwansonSpeechtherapy.com or complete our intake form, and we will be happy to discuss our availability with you.

If our current appointment times do not work for your schedule, we will add you to our waitlist and contact you when a spot that meets your needs opens up.

At Swanson Speech Therapy, we are committed to serving our community and providing timely access to quality care. We are continuously working to expand our availability and reduce wait times as much as possible.
